I guess it's timeWell it's been 4 days since I arrived home. I guess it's time for me to spill the beans, or share what I'm thinking. I don't really feel I have a lot to share and yet people keep telling me to update. So here it is. HomeI'm Home in Vancouver. I won't go into detail now (have to much to do) but will explain a little. Basically while in New York I decided I didn't want to sit on a bus for 3 days while feeling sick (since I was coming down with something) so I bought a plane flight to Seattle and spent the night with my friend Matthew at University of Washington (THANKS MATT!) and then got a ride down to Vancouver with his mom that morning. (THANKS MRS. ANDERSON) Upon arriving home at 5pm I was greeted by the sound of silence. No one was home. So I decided to wait and film when my parents got home. New YorkOh New York how you feel close to home. I mean granted I'm still a 3 day bus trip away from Vancouver Washington and my own bed and yet New York feels not to far. I really am thinking it was a good idea to have a stop over in New York before heading directly home. I think having only a 6 hour time difference rather than a 9 hour difference is very beneficial and so I really don't feel that jet lagged, at least yet. Granted I didn't fall asleep last night until technically 7am in the morning Amsterdam time but I really don't feel that bad.
Leaving EuropeI'm heading out. Once I finish breakfast and check out I'm off to the airport and then out of the country. God willing I will arrive in New York at 7pm New York time. If not... well who knows where I will end up. So Ya! Just wanted to let you all know I'm heading out, I'm safe and sound and I'll update later. See you across the Pond! AmsterdamI'm in Amsterdam! ! !
Koln and AachenI'm in Aachen now. I got here this morning around 10:30am on a train. The last 2 days have been crazy but I won't go into details. If you want to know you can ask me later but right now my internet is limited and I only have 2 minutes left!!! Anyway I'm safe, I'm sound, and I'm aching in Aachen. To much walking yesterday and today. This is the nicest location for a youth hostel yet. It actually has a yard, a big one actually. The scenery is beautiful all around and I've already decided I definitely will be returning.
Dusseldorf and KolnI'm now in Koln Germany. Last night I was in Dusseldorf and at nice little hostel near the train station. I flew into the Weeze airport, which I thought was the Dusseldorf airport but wasn't, around 2:30pm yesterday. I then had to take a bus from Weeze to Dusseldorf and then a bus from there to the hostel. I found out after getting off the bus that it wasn't really required. The first bus though was definitely required. That was about 45 minutes long but it was worth it. So far all of the Lower Rhine I've seen reminds me the most of home.
RomeOh so much to say, but maybe I will just keep it brief and if you have questions you can ask. Or if you want more details I can tell you them. So last I left off I had just arrived in Rome. I am still in Rome but am leaving tomorrow for Dusseldorf Germany. I am flying there from the Rome Ciampino Airport rather than taking a train north for two reasons. First was that it was cheaper for me to fly there than to take a train north to Munich. Second it's faster. Third it allowed me to stay in Rome for longer. So all in all it seemed a win-win-win situation.
Cinque TerreI'll try and update later about my second day in Cinque Terre but this will be a quick overview and link to the photos.
Cinque TerreI'm now in Italy. It's amazing in this town. Currently in Riomaggiore of Cinque Terre. I met 3 guys on the train and so we've been figuring it out together. Wifi is $5 for an hour or 8 cents a minute..... so I won't be on for a while. Especially cause I have to walk to the city center to do it and this place is AMAZING. Anyway. Got to go out and explore some. I'm safe though. I'm sound... Check back in a bit!
